Enigmatic Group - Enviro is an independent environmental consultancy specialising in providing high quality solutions to business and industry in the management of environment risk, environmental planning, environmental engineering, environmental approvals, environmental audits, environmental monitoring. It is specialised in providing project and operational support to the offshore industry, as well as other coastal and marine activities such as fisheries, aquaculture, coastal developments, marina's and wastewater treatment marine outlets. Sjaak Lemmens
Environmental Advisor to the Offshore Industry

Sjaak has 25+ experience in environmental science and 15+ years experience in the offshore industry. Tasks have included project management, scientific writing, the preparation of environment plans and oil spill contingency plans, greenhouse gas assessments, waste management, external reporting requirements, tender evaluation, liaison with regulators as well as stakeholders at various levels, referrals under the EPBC Act, vessel environmental audits, offshore inspections and due diligence audits, environmental engineering, and a wide range of marine monitoring programmes.

His strength lies in a solid background in marine science, intimate understanding of the Australian environment, combined with a strong track-record in environmental engineering for the offshore industry.


Since 2002 he has been seconded to a number of major clients in the offshore industry, including offshore developments in the Carnarvon Basin, Western Australia, off Exmouth, the Kimberley (Browse Basin), in Mauritania, Azerbaijan, Indonesia and Vietnam.


Prior to this, he worked for a range of clients on ocean outlets, aquaculture and pearling projects, as well as coastal developments and harbour and marinas. While at KBR, Sjaak was environment manager, proposal manager and project manager for a range of coastal and marine projects.

Sjaak has a PhD in Marine Biology (UWA) and has studied coral reefs, seagrasses, soft bottom benthic communities, Western Rock Lobster, fisheries, aquaculture. He was a Marine Scientist with CSIRO before joining the private industry in 1996.
He has been based in Fremantle for 25+ years and is married, with three teenagers. Although Dutch-born, he became an Australian citizen in 1991.
